Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were preparing for more assaults.
